ATLANTA - The Fulton County sheriff's office says a convicted rapist out on bond has been captured in Texas after he removed his ankle monitor and fled.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan says 38-year-old Ali Reza Nejad, known as the "Pantyhose Rapist," was captured by U.S. marshals in Houston at a hotel without incident

Nejad was convicted in 2005 or raping two women in separate assaults, and he was suspected in several others.

An appeals court reversed his conviction in 2009, but it was reinstated by the Georgia Supreme Court last week.
