Men found drunk, firing shotgun from shed

  • Follow Latest News

Two men were arrested early this morning after officers found them intoxicated and firing a shotgun from inside a shed.
According to Richmond County jail records, Charlie Edgar Schlein, 52, and Troy Zebubure Bridges, 39, both of the 3500 block of Mike Padgett Highway, were each charged with one count of discharge of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, certain drugs or controlled substances.
Deputies were dispatched to the 3500 block of Mike Padgett Highway about 2 a.m. Once they arrived, they heard gunshots coming from the woods. The officers searched the woods and found a shed with the two men inside.

Just curious as to why you

Just curious as to why you would charge the two individuals with trespassing? The article did not imply that it was not their shed, or that anyone else's property was damaged. Also the charge of discharging a firearm within city limits would never stick , since the 3500 Blk. of Mike Padgett Hwy. is no where near the city limits. As to why they were not charged with multiple counts of discharging a firearm under the influence of alcohol; not to second guess the officer on the scene, but the courts would just plea bargin it right on down anyway and I believe the deputies accomplished what they were sent there to do, and that was to put a stop to this non-sense before someone was hurt. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Justus has outdone himself

Justus has outdone himself today. Justus, perhaps they were celebrating the victory of Obama's health care bill. Judging by their looks and their behavior, they could probably benefit from some care.

TWO people were charged. That

TWO people were charged. That sounds to me like TWO shots were fired that the officers can testify to.

Surely Justus would not want the officers to lie.

I don't know if I agree or

I don't know if I agree or disagree with this. Recently I read an article where a man shot his fence after an argument with his wife. He was arrested for criminal damage to property (his own property mind you), and disturbing the peace. No one was hurt in the incident. I completely disagreed with that arrest. Shooting a gun shouldn't be illegal. Shooting a gun and injuring or killing a person, that's illegal.
