A Hephzibah Middle School student has been found guilty in a tribunal of writing a note threatening to harm a teacher.

According to school reports released this week for tribunals held Feb. 26, the student passed the note around a classroom on Feb. 11.

The student later apologized, was remorseful and said she only meant the note as a joke, according to the report. The student, whose name wasn't listed, was suspended five additional days, was assigned to in-school suspension for 10 days and will be on probation for the remainder of the school year.

She also has been removed from the teacher's class and assigned a new instructor, the report states.
