Kidnapped, forced to withdraw ATM funds, woman says

  • Follow Latest News

A woman told police two men kidnapped her Wednesday from Wal Mart on Deans Bridge Road and made her drive to an ATM to get money.

The 23-year-old victim said she was in the parking lot when she was approached by two men asking about the location of a hotel, a Richmond County Sheriff's report said.

The woman said she offered to give them a ride to another location and when they got in her car the men demanded money, the report said. She drove them to a nearby ATM machine and took out $500.

The men made her drive to Milledgeville Road where she dropped them off and they fled the area.

Obviously no crime here. She

Obviously no crime here. She could have refused to give them money and a ride. Her choice. BTW why wasn't she arrested for enticing these young pillars of society into doing something illegal. Its disgusting the way some women trap young men into these type situations. We need to educate the young men to stay away from floosies if they are to succeed and become giants in industry.

I didn't think you could take

I didn't think you could take out that much money from an ATM at one time. And why would she let 2 strangers get in the car with her??? She got what she deserved. I bet next time she will think twice before letting strangers get in her car. Duh!!

Good grief she is lucky all

Good grief she is lucky all they took was her money. What person in their right mind picks up strange men in parking lots and offers them a ride. She should be thanking God she is still alive. You would think at 23 she would know better-- then again 23yr.olds these days act like they are 12.

My 12 year old granddaughter

My 12 year old granddaughter has more sense than that 23 year old.
Stupidity has its own rewards.

Don't 23 year olds, and

Don't 23 year olds, and alike, have cell phones stuck to their ear and heads and are talking constantly. A good scream into that phone could have helped. But, I think this is classic funny....HAHAHAHAHAHA. Then again, the two guys were asking about a hotel so she may have been a prostitute since the hotel thing caught her attention. Either way, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

And where is the description

And where is the description of the perps? I'll be willing to bet they were white males between the ages of 18 and 25 with blond hair and blue eyes.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I've had

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I've had people ask me for directions plenty of times in that parking lot and I simply direct their butts to the door of wal-mart to get a map or to ask the RCS on duty for directions. I'm glad she's alright, but sheesh, giving them a ride was NOT a good idea- that was waaaay too trusting.

Yep blame the victim. That

Yep blame the victim. That is, till you are the victim. She was wrong to let them in her car, but she did not deserve to be robbed. Blame the criminals, not the victim.

I don't know the max amount you can get from an atm in one day, but I know it is more than $500.

I'm starting to think all

I'm starting to think all these robbery claims are bogus. Are there that many stupid people, especially women, who keep giving rides to strangers. I mean, this this day in age who gives rides to strangers. You are asking for trouble, and usually they get it!!!.

HappyChimer that's not true,

HappyChimer that's not true, it depends on the bank and the type of account you have. Some allow you to set your own limit. Mine is $400 right now, at one time it was set at $200.

Where in the article does it

Where in the article does it say that this woman did not know who the two men were that she was giving a ride to? Does it say two "unidentified" men, or two "strangers"? Isn't it equally likely that she DID know who they were and told the police, but the police wanted to make sure that they got the story from the two men before putting their names in the newspaper? Or perhaps she knew one of the men and the police want to talk to him to find out who the unknown person is before the one they know is accused of anything (prompting him to work on getting a story straight with the other person). The story does sound fishy, but you all complain enough about this paper to know that they don't always get all the facts right. Having said that, I'm not going to throw the victim under the bus. Nice of you all to wait until you have the facts before jumping to conclusions though. Oh wait, you didn't do that. Again. You were too busy trying to make it a racial or political debate.

She must not be from around

She must not be from around here. Either that or this isn't the whole story because I have a hard time believing she can be this ignorant. Stupid can be all day long, but she apparently lacked the knowledge to realize where she was and what year this is.

The bank will know if she

The bank will know if she actually withdrew that amount from her account, so if she is bs-ing the truth will come out.
