An Augusta man accused of violently shaking and killing his 3-month-old son was indicted on murder charges Tuesday.

The Richmond County grand jury indicted 21-year-old Corduray Keith Scott Sr. with malice and felony murder, as well as four counts of second-degree cruelty to children, according to the indictment.

Scott was arrested Jan. 18 on a cruelty-to-children charge that was upgraded to murder after the baby died.

He is accused of squeezing the baby and repeatedly jumping up and down to get him to stop crying. This caused a brain hemorrhage that led to the child's death on Jan. 21,  the indictment said.

Authorities have since detected a history of abuse with the child, in including brain damage caused by oxygen being denied to the child's brain over a long period of time.
