The University of Phoenix's Augusta campus and the local census office will host a job fair Thursday to help fill positions for the upcoming population count.

The fair will be help from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the University of Phoenix's campus at 3150 Perimeter Parkway.

The census is hiring several positions including census takers, crew leaders and crew leader assistants. The typical work schedule for a census taker is usually 20 to 40 hours a week. The length of employment depends on the availability of work, which is different for each local office.

The local office is expected to hire hundreds of workers once fully staffed.

Those who are interested in a job can sign up at the job fair to take an employment test at a later date.
