Man dies in Augusta shooting

    A 40-year-old man died after a shooting today in the 1600 block of Luckey Street, Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen said.

    Scotty Mathis, of the 2100 block of Vandivere Road, was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m., Bowen said. The shooting happened at 2:48 p.m., he said.
