A man was arrested after he reportedly shoplifted from Wal-Mart in North Augusta and was chased by police into a nearby Chic-Fil-A restaurant.
A North Augusta Department of Public Safety incident report states that Quantavous Terrence Hawthorn, 21, of Augusta, was charged with shoplifting under $1,000, malicious injury to real property and resisting arrest.
At about 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the Wal-Mart at 1201 Knox Ave. The man reportedly ran through a shopping center parking lot and into the restaurant, where police said he began to grab and sling table benches in an attempt to slow down officers. Damage to two table benches in the restaurant was estimated at $500, according to the report.
The man had attempted to shoplift $120 in items, including five bras, two T-shirts, a hat, and a video game, the report said.
With a name like that I suppose HE did need some bras.
They are waiting for the one where he is fully dressed.
He thought they were double barrelled slingshots.

happychimer, we didn't remove it. It must have been a glitch when our site went down a few minutes ago.
Im having to hit my back button twice to go to previous page, it only does it on the AC web site. Is anyone else having this problem? windows xp sp3 IE7 thanks.
Happy, my ha-ha-ha-ing was removed too, from another forum ("A seal of disapproval").
Sean thanks. I see that now. I had to click on my name to get today's across the area. On the latest news page the link to across the area is Thursday.
Hmmmm, so much that could be said here but shouldn't (or mostly, can't). I'll have to settle for wondering why there is a specific charge for "malicious injury to 'real' property". Can there possibly be a charge for 'malicious injury to 'fake' property'?
