AIKEN - Emergency crews have been able to remove an 18-wheeler from Interstate 20 that has blocked traffic for the more than six hours.

The tractor trailer, which was hauling carpet, was traveling easton the interstate when it overturned about 3:50 a.m. at mile marker 15, said South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Judd Jones. It's unclear what caused the crash, but the truck was the only vehicle involved. The driver received minor injuries.

Crews had to unload the truck, reload it and then attempt to move it upright, which led to the delay in moving the truck from the interstate, Jones said. Both eastbound lanes were blocked, but traffic is slowly returning through the area, Jones said.
