A Burke County inmate attempted to hang himself yesterday but was cut down before he died.
Burke County Sheriff's Chief Deputy James Hollingsworth said the man, whose name was not immediately available, was under observation.
More details are pending.
Thank you dougk. I mean you will go to hell for saying things like that. Just because this person is in jail he is still a human and you might end up there one day yourself. You should be ashamed of the comment you posted. Only a heartless person should feel that way.
OK, both of you could be right about f-100's statement, but you don't know. So you are also guilty of doing the same to him. Chances are, (not to be confused with a statement of fact) that a person in jail, with an emotional or mental state that would take his own life will probably never be a contribution to society. F-100 may be closer to being right than you.
danielleschronicle and dougk, what you did was "judge". Did someone name the 2 of you God, or am I missing something?
Do we need more tough guys? MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Well to be judged by God, you must first stand before him. So maybe he was under the impression hanging himself was the way to do so. Either way suicide is such a weak way to go. I have seen cancer patience on their death beds in horrible pain have more of a backbone that this guy.
Fortunately, a deputy was vigilant and on duty noticed this and saved the inmate from himself.
