MONCKS CORNER, S.C. - A woman has been bitten by an alligator at South Carolina's Cypress Gardens, but her injuries didn't appear to be serious.
Multiple media outlets reported an elderly couple was walking on a narrow trail in the park near Moncks Corner about 3 p.m. Monday when an alligator between 3 feet and 6 feet long bit her on the leg and hand. Her name was not released.
Natural Resources Department Cpl. Russ Monnet says the woman doesn't know if she stepped on the gator. But she suffered a single puncture wound on her leg and another on her hand when she fell.
She was able to walk away and was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina hospital in Charleston for treatment.
Neither wildlife officers nor an alligator trapper could find the animal later Monday.
They didn't know if it was 3 feet or 6 feet long?! That is an incredible size difference to be that fuzzy on. She needs to have her eye's examined along with her injuries.
Sounds like she didn't see the whole gator. It did say the trail was narrow.
She was close enough to it to get her leg bit..........
LOL KSL! Hopefully, she'll at least be able to describe what it was wearing......
Other than the alligator skinned shoes that is....
But she suffered a single puncture wound on her leg and another on her hand when she fell. I sure would like to see how that gator pulled that one off.
Gator took a bit and said that old bird is to tough to chew - come on Eyes get it right. - Glad she was hurt any worse.
Tex, are you saying that he just 'winged' her?
Along with the other commenters I'm glad that she wasn't seriously hurt. At least she has a great story to tell her kids, ......grand kids, ......great grand kids.......
