Man wounded in south Augusta shooting

A 31-year-old Augusta man told officers that he was shot by two men Saturday night in the 3400 block of McAlpine Drive in south Augusta.
According to a Richmond County sheriff's report, the man said the men fired at him while he was outside his home about 9:40 p.m. The man said the assailants were in a sport utility vehicle.
Officers said a bullet entered the man's right knee, exited and then entered his left calf. The man was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital for treatment.

Good grief. Meadowbrook Area has been keeping them busy lately. I'll be sure not to mistake those popping noises for firecrackers and be ready to duck or dive behind cover if it sounds closer than usual.
