Someone vandalized the athletic facility at Lucy C. Laney High School over the weekend.
Between 11 p.m. Friday and about 12:30 p.m. Saturday someone who entered the athletic facility at the school's stadium threw a computer through the window of the head coach's office and ransacked it, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report. The word 9th Ward was also drawn on the walls and floor of the facility.
A metal medicine ball was thrown through the window of a film room, and the concession area was sprayed with a fire hydrant. The estimated cost of the damages was not known.

What a shame. That stadium

What a shame. That stadium is the pride of Laney High School and the Laney-Walker area.

I don't understand what all

I don't understand what all of this racist puke has to do with the article itself? A high school in our area has been vandalized and the repairs are going to be very costly at a time when most programs are already struggling to raise funds. This is a shame no matter what school or county it happened in.

That is a bet I would

That is a bet I would definitely take glassrinkmaker. The students at Laney are proud of their facilities and with good reason. This was done by someone who had an obvious distaste for the school and their athletic program, my money would be on a rival school or former student, not a current one. Regardless of who, it is not a reflection of the overall student body.

I'd be willing to bet that it

I'd be willing to bet that it was some punk who lives on the same block as the school...I hope the catch him/her and make them scrub it off with a toothbrush.

This is not a racist comment

This is not a racist comment by any means. But thats why the state is reluctant to build up certian areas... because a select few people don't know how to act. The vandals could have been of any ethic dessent. It really don't matter how you try to dress up a community. It only talks one bad apple to ruin for a group of citizens who deserved that facility. I hope they are found and prossecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Countyman. I loved the pictures. Which one am I paying for? I didn't see a sign outside with my name as the donor. Surely you don't think the people living there are paying full price for those houses, do you?
