Part of Broad Street will close for a month starting Monday as crews work to reconstruct a railroad crossing.
Due to work on the St. Sebastian Way extension project, Broad Street from 15th Street to Crawford Avenue will close and traffic will be detoured using Calhoun Expressway, a news release said.
Crews plan to finish the St. Sebastian Way extension - which uses a series of new ramps, bridges and roadways to speed traffic from River Watch Parkway to University and the Medical College of Georgia hospitals - by this summer.
They will also be doing utility work in that area.
Shouldn't this be 15th STREET? 15th AVENUE is nowhere near Broad Street.
Yes, 15th Street to Crawford Avenue was what the article intended.
How difficult is it to understand, "Broad St. from 15th St. to Crawford Ave"?
I wonder if they were smart enough to reset the timers on the redlights at Crawfor and Broad? If not they will pile traffic up really bad. Still don't know where the Sebastian way cut thru will actually be. It may be a good time for the A.C. to show a map of where things will be. In all honesty, it resembles a road to nowhere at the hospital end.
Dissman, I think they did have a map that they printed when the construction was announced. But it did not clear up the confusion. I do not the guy that drew the map even knew where Walton Way was much less St. Sebastian Way. Maybe I will do an archive search for the illustration.
