An Evans man has been arrested in an Internet predator case that was investigated by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, the South Carolina Attorney General's Office said today.
Joshua David Taylor, 21, of the 4600 block of Holly Hill Road was arrested Thursday, according to a statement from the attorney general's office. He is charged with one count of criminal solicitation of a minor, a felony offense.
According to an arrest warrant, Taylor used MySpace in January to solicit sexual intercourse from someone who identified herself as a 14-year-old girl. Taylor went on to arrange a meeting with the girl for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Before a meeting could take place, the case came to the attention of the sheriff's office, and a request to MySpace produced information leading to Taylor.
A search warrant executed at Taylor's home by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office resulted in the seizure of one desktop and two laptop computers.
Taylor was assigned a $5,000 bond.
Good to the Law Enforcement involved, one of these days it will be someone's daughter that isn't as forgiving, and these scumbags won't have to worry about posting bond.
Talk to your daughters people, freaks are everywhere! And never let your under 18 kids have a Facebook or My Space without knowing their username & password. Log in regularly to see what they are up to.
If the Attorney General is involved, he's in big trouble. He's just ruined his life. He was tracked by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. http://aiken.news.sc/2010/02/23/aiken-sc-sheriffs-capture-internet-sex-p... for his picture.
What's up with all these columbia county child sex/porn cases lately? Does home values directly relate to sexual ickyness? Plus, dude is still using myspace? Lame.
We have a society that promotes and celebrates sin 24/7 and we show surprise when it happens.
Only $5000 bond for a sexual predator? WTH?
Watch the movie, "Little Children." It's all about a child molester living in a community. I think it's on HBO.
Maybe he will be on NBC's Dateline "to catch a predator" series.
Stop letting your little girls go on the internet presenting themselves as 18 year olds when they are 14 and younger. These girls are ruining young men's lives. The young men think these girls are older than they are because that's what they are told. According to the people I have spoken with the girl presented herself to be 18 years old. If that is the truth then the girl should be in trouble too. I was in a courtroom last year when a young man who had never had any trouble with the law was sentenced to 10 years in prison because he had sex with a 16 year old girl. The girl said she was over 18. The guy went to her house had sex with her and they got caught by her mom. This girl had posted nude pictures of herself on "Bootycall.com". This is a website that you have to pay for with a credit card. Who's credit card was she using? Probably momma's. She was also on other websites solicting sex herself. She had been on these sites for a couple of years. That means she was 14 years old when she started doing this. I don't care how old you are, if you are attempting to entice men and say you are older than you are then you should be punished as well. There are people out there preying on our children but these girls are looking for MEN to have sex with and saying they are older than they are, and it's not right. When the case first came before the judge I thought "I hope they burn him!" Then after hearing the facts of the case I felt differently. This guy would have never had anything to do with this girl if he had known her age. So parents accept your responisbility in this mess. Lets go after the real predators of our children. And young men beware. I think Danny Craig said it best. Before you have sex with someone, you should know them well enough to count the candles on their birthday cake.
