A burglar used a ladder to climb into a 60-year-old woman's bedroom window and steal about $32,000 worth of jewelry and cash Monday.
The victim told police she arrived at her home, in the 900 block of Heard Avenue, to find a ladder at her bedroom window, according to a Richmond County Sheriff's report.
The burglar had smashed the window, ransacked the home and stole numerous jewelry items, including a $2,000 gold bracelet and a $3,000 Bucherer watch. Sheriff's Lt. Tony Walden said it was the second burglar in that area recently and he has ordered crime scene technicians to examine the home.
Crime scene technicians? She must have some pull.
OK. This had to be someone that knew about these belongings. There is no way that a random burglar could be that lucky.
You might be right, fishman, but that's a pretty nice part of Heard Avenue. Any of the scumbags that ride through there would probably bet there was good stuff inside, even if they didn't know exactly what. I'm surprised there wasn't an alarm system on in this house. Or a nice, big, rottweiler roaming the house.
My son has a nice big rottweiler roaming his house. He has had no break-ins.
He also has a cat that is friends with the 130 lb. dog. They play together and sleep together.
So you're saying a "cat" burglar could easily rob his house?
sounds professional. Most security systems work on the ground floor. Wonder were the ladder came from ?
Excellent observation, Faithson. All the more reason to have a big dog.
IN TIME THEY WILL BE CAUGHT. JUST WAIT AND SEE.`
Also...she FOUND a ladder meaning the thieves brought it with them which means they had targeted her.
Anybody that in this day and age that would keep $32,000 in cash and jewelry at home- well, not a good choice.
Does the homeowner have domestic help who cleans her house, or has she had any repairs on the house lately, or any painting or improvements inside of the house lately, and who would know her schedule to know that she would not be at home at the time of the burglary? Shake those information trees and the hood-rat thug gangsta' will probably fall out.
