Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a Jan. 24 shooting involving four men, three of whom were later charged with murder in connection with another incident.
According to Richmond County jail records, Larry Tarver Jr., 24, of the 3800 block of Dorset Street, has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
A Richmond County sheriff's report says the shooting occurred about 1 a.m. Jan. 24, about 30 minutes before the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Sergio Campbell at the McDonald's at 2624 Deans Bridge Road.
Four men werein a gray Toyota Rav4 at the intersection of John C. Calhoun Expressway and Crawford Avenue when a man fired shots at them from a Ford Windstar van. No one in the Toyota was wounded.
Three of the men in the Toyota, Sean Christopher Bryant, Harry Lee Jones, and Kevin Antwan Williams, face murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Campbell. The fourth man in the Toyota, Marques Antonio Robinson, was charged with making false statements in a government matter in connection with the McDonald's shooting.
obviously news that was gleaned from an E-Mail from the sheriffs office. Are there no reporters to ask questions anymore. Something like why was Campbell targeted for killing, who owned the Windstar are bits of information that would make a truer picture of what happened. Instead we get what ever the sheriffs office (old we don't have a gang problem in Augusta) decides to send out to confirm their assessment.
Disssman, I think maybe too much information on this case would be detrimental to the investigation. I think you need to be content with the information you already have.
