Kennedy urges Democrat support in Mass. election

Although U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy is in Augusta today, he's still following Tuesday's Massachusetts vote to fill the Senate seat of his late father Ted Kennedy.

"Failure is not an option," he said this morning before a speaking engagement in Augusta.

Democrat Martha Coakley faces Republican state Sen. Scott Brown in the Massachusetts race viewed by some as a referendum on federal health care reform.

Mr. Kennedy, a Rhode Island congressman, was the keynote speaker at the 19th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Observation today at Paine College.

He said he expects some version of health care reform -- a longtime issue pushed by his father -- to pass.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
