Front end loader used to remove ATM from Wachovia branch

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Authorities say thieves used some stolen heavy equipment to steal an entire ATM from a South Carolina bank.

Police said that officers responding to an alarm around 4:30 a.m. today at a Wachovia branch in Greenville found a running front end loader and wires sticking up from the ground where the ATM once was.

Investigators say the thieves stole the front end loader from a nearby construction site.

Police are waiting to see if the bank's surveillance cameras got footage that could help the investigation.
