Ga. launches Census Web site

ATLANTA -– Georgia has launched a Web site designed to motivate residents of the state to get involved and to respond to the 2010 census.

Gov. Sonny Perdue says is the first effort by the Georgia Complete Count Committee.

Perdue says the committee's job is to identify the best way to reach all populations and all geographic areas of the state.

The committee is led by Mike Beatty, the commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, and Debra Lyons, the director of the Governor's Office of Workforce Development.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity

A suspicious item was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Savannah River National Laboratory which prompted emergency responseactivities.
