An Augusta woman was arrested and charged with deprivation of a minor after police said she left her 9-month-old son unattended in a car while shopping.
A Richmond County sheriffs report says that about 10 p.m. Saturday someone in the parking lot of Michaels on Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway noticed the child strapped in a car seat with all the doors of the vehicle locked. An officer found the childs mother, Wilva Katherine Baldwin, 28, of the 1500 block of Myrtle Lane, inside the store.
Richmond County Investigator William Leisey said the child had been left alone for about 30 minutes. The boy was returned to his father uninjured.
