Authorities identify third man wanted in May murder

Authorities have identified a third man wanted for the May 16 murder of Tremayne Marcus at a local motel.

Joseph Ty’re “Tyrek” Downs is wanted for murder, aggravated assault and other gun charges, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The announcement comes on the heels of the arrest 19-year-old Jonathan Devar Harrell, of the 500 block of Richmond Hill Road, Monday on murder charges. An unspecified cash reward is being offered for help in the case.

Authorities describe Mr. Downs as being about five feet, 10 inches tall and 135 pounds, the release said. He is known to frequent the Magnolia Park Apartments Complex at 2133 Vandivere Road.

A third man, Nicholas Johnson, 20, of the 3100 block of Bellmeade Drive, is also wanted in the case. The victim was shot when two groups exchanged gunfire and he was struck by a stray bullet.
