Development on North Augusta agenda

NORTH AUGUSTA – City council meets tonight to discuss the Gardner’s Landing planned development on final reading.

The development will consist of 48 to 65 single-family units and 246 apartment units along the Savannah River to the side of U.S. Highway 1 behind the RiverNorth subdivision.

Residents of RiverNorth have expressed at the previous two readings of the ordinance that they are not happy with Gardner’s Landing using their main entrance, RiverNorth Drive, as the only entrance into Gardner’s Landing. They saud they think the road is not wide enough to handle the extra 2,160 two-way trips developers expect.

City council meets at 7 p.m. in the municipal building, located at 100 Georgia Ave.
