November police shootings still under investigation, GBI says

Officials said today they are still conducting interviews in two investigations involving Richmond County sheriff's deputies and the fatal shooting of suspects.

Agent Pat Morgan, of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, said he expects to present his findings in the Nov. 18 shooting of Michael Nestor to Richmond County District Attorney Ashley Wright sometime after the Christmas holiday.

Mr. Nestor, 30, was fatally shot by narcotics officers when they said he tried to hit one of them with his car.

Investigators Philip Hambrick, Jason Saal and Mike Swint have been placed on desk duty pending the outcome.

Also being investigated is the Nov. 12 shooting of Terry Ramsey, 41, by two sheriff’s deputies.

Agent Morgan said that case is also still under investigation and he did not know when it would be complete.

Deputies Chadwick Plueger and Sylvester Rosier shot Mr. Ramsey while he was holding a knife to his estranged wife’s throat. Both deputies have since returned to their regular shifts.
