Missing SC infant found safe in Summerville

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Police in South Carolina have found a 1-month-old boy who was taken from a vehicle in North Charleston earlier this week.

A statement by North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said Angel Miguel Perez was found safe at a home in Summerville about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Pryor says a 19-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with kidnapping. Her name was not released.

Pryor says officers from North Charleston and Summerville went to the home after getting a tip. He says the boy was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an evaluation and was reunited with his parents.

A police dispatcher referred questions to Pryor, who did not immediately return a phone message seeking additional information. Police planned a news conference late Wednesday morning.
