AIKEN - Authorities are searching for a man they believe held up an Aiken gas station with a screwdriver.

Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to an armed robbery at Kangaroo Express on Whiskey Road around 5 a.m. this morning, said Lt. David Turno. The suspect entered the store, put a screwdriver up to the clerk’s throat and demanded money, Lt. Turno said. The victim said she gave the suspect money, and he ran from the store toward Advanced Auto Parts.

The suspect is described as a white male with short black facial hair, standing 6-feet tall, weighing about 225 pounds and wearing a black pullover with Carolina blue on the front of it.
