North Augusta police looking for man in store robbery

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Authorities are looking for a man in connection to a robbery Sunday at a Dollar General.

The suspect hid in the store located in the 1100 block of Knox Avenue shortly before employees were closing for the night, said North Augusta Department of Public Safety Det. George Shaw. Moments after the store's closing, the suspect approached employees wearing a ski-mask and a black jacket and demanded them to lie down on the floor, Det. Shaw said. The suspect took money from the cash register and money set aside for night deposit. He then ran from the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, standing between 5-feet 5-inches and 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds with short cornrows.
