Fiery crash after plane hits house outside Atlanta

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Authorities in Georgia say an Atlanta-area house has been hit by a small plane and destroyed by flames.

Cpl. David Schiralli of the Gwinnett County police says emergency crews are responding to the scene, but there's no immediate word on injuries.

WSB-TV reported that the twin-engine Cessna 310 took off today from Gwinnett County airport en route to Sparta, Tenn.

County fire officials say the house was engulfed in flames.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
