Police say man killed brother

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A South Carolina man is in the Charleston County jail today, charged with murder in the death of his brother, who police say was beaten with a walking stick.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that 52-year-old Charles Edward Roundtree was arrested Sunday. His brother, 62-year-old Jimmy M. Roundtree, was found dead in his mobile home.

Authorities say the pair had been arguing when Charles Roundtree picked up a metal walking stick and hit his brother on the head and neck.

Mr. Roundtree told police that he didn't mean to hit his brother, and that his brother was always "messing" with him.
