Police say woman tried to run down officer at traffic stop

AIKEN -- The Aiken Department of Public Safety is looking for Merita S. Carter after they say she attempted to run over an officer who had pulled over her vehicle for speeding.


According to a news release from the Aiken Department of Public Safety, Ms. Carter is wanted for

assault with intent to kill, speeding 63 in a 45 mph zone and reckless driving. She was seen last driving a black 2005 Nissan Sentra.
