Brown was a three-time winner

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — North Augusta’s Scott Brown clinched the eGolf Professional Tour’s money title Thursday with a 19th-place finish in the season-ending Tour Championship.


Brown, a three-time winner on tour this year, earned $3,316.67 to finish at $142,362.

He shot a final-round 68 to finish at 7-under 205 and become the second consecutive player with area ties to claim the tour’s money title. David Robinson, of Sandersville, Ga., won it last year when it was known as the Tarheel Tour. Robinson shot 70 on Thursday to tie for 48th at 209.

Former PGA Tour player Matt Davidson survived a three-man, five-hole playoff with another former PGA Tour player, Jess Daley, and two-time Walker Cup player Lee Williams to win the season finale for the second year in a row.

The three had tied at 13-under 199 in the event played at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club and Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club.

Daley was eliminated after a bogey on the first extra hole. Davidson birdied the fifth hole to defeat Williams and earn $45,000 to finish second on the money list at $138,269.

Aiken native Matt Hendrix (66) and Aiken’s Kevin Kisner (69) tied for ninth at 203. Aiken’s Dane Burkhart (69) tied for 13th at 204. Former USC Aiken golfer Ryan Dillon (68) tied for 19th at 205. Augusta’s Emmett Turner (68) and former Augusta State golfer Jay Haas (69) tied for 33rd at 207. Aiken’s Stephen Poole (70) and former Augusta Prep golfer Cortland Lowe (69) tied for 41st at 208.
