Arrest in August home invasion

A man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion and attempted armed robbery of a 63-year-old Hephzibah woman on Aug. 3.

According to Richmond County jail records, 24-year-old Quincy Dean was arrested on Wednesday and charged with criminal attempt armed robbery, burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and false imprisonment.

A sheriff’s report states that at about 11:20 a.m. on Aug. 3, a man pointed a gun at the woman while she was in her backyard on the 3600 block of Gibralter Drive in Hephzibah. The man forced the woman back inside her house.

The man demanded that the woman give him money but the woman told him that she did not have any. The man forced the woman back into a bedroom and told her to stay there. The woman then called law enforcement on a telephone. The robber drove off in a silver vehicle.
