Paine College president given award

Dr. George Bradley

The president of Paine College, George Bradley, has been given the Alumni Achievement Award by the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences, a news release announced today.

The award was started in 1992 to recognize alumni for meritoriuos services and/or distinguished achievements.

The release states that Dr. Bradley "has played an integral role in the development of historically black colleges and universities; during his first year as president, Bradley raised over $2 million for capital improvements to the college and continues to build upon the educational and cultural offerings of the school."

Dr. Bradley holds his Ph.D. from Iowa State University. He will be recognized in a university-wide ceremony on Oct. 17.
