Police seek suspect in Aiken holdup

AIKEN -- An armed robbery occurred this morning at the Kangaroo Express at the intersection of Richland Avenue West at University Parkway

According to a news bulletin released by police, the suspect pulled a black pistol from his pocket and demanded the money from the clerk. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled. He was seen driving away from the scene in a dark colored truck.

The suspect is described as a black male, 45-55 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and about 175 pounds.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is asking for any information from the public that may help in solving this crime.

Callers can remain anonymous by calling 1-888-CRIME-SC, and may be eligible for a cash reward of between $50-$1000. Callers can also call the ADPS tip line and remain anonymous at 803-642-7799.
