Lawyer faces bribery charges

Retired lawyer David Fry was arrested around 1 p.m. today on two counts of bribery, Sheriff Ronnie Strength has confirmed.

The lawyer's name came up last week as the Augusta Commission was questioned by sheriff’s investigators and the FBI about possible bribe attempts involving the proposed trade, exhibit and event center.

Commissioners said they understood that an attorney had approached Commissioners Alvin Mason and Corey Johnson about their votes.
