BUFORD, Ga. — The euphoria that went with being the first of the thousands of boys who will go on to play football for Grovetown gave the Warriors enough energy for a little more than a quarter.

Facing one of the best teams in the state, they were tough early in a 51-0 loss at Buford Friday night. It was the first game in the history of the Columbia County school, a team with only six seniors.

“A quarter and a half we played football with one of the better teams in the country,” coach Rodney Holder said.
