Dippin' Dots robbed by gunman

The Dippin’ Dots at 4108 Windsor Spring Road was robbed by a gunman Friday night, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

An employee said a man entered the business about 9 p.m. and placed an order. As the employee rang up the order, the man lifted his shirt and displayed a silver handgun in the waist of his jeans. He then told the employee: “This is a robbery. Don’t cause a scene. I’ll shoot you.”

The employee handed over money from the register and the man left in a white, four-door Kia Rio driven by another person. They drove west on Tobacco Road.

The robber is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches or 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighting 190 pounds with short black hair and bushy eyebrows. He was wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans and a black do-rag with holes in it.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080.
