State honors ASU's Sandarg

Augusta State University professor Dr. Jana Sandarg was awarded this week the Florence Steiner Award for Leadership in Foreign Language Education.

The award was Thursday bestowed as part of the State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox and the State Board of Education’s bi-monthly recognition of students, teachers, administrators, schools and school systems, according to a press release.

This month’s honorees were for exemplary library media programs and world language programs. Dr. Sandarg teaches Spanish at ASU and organizes six-week study abroad trips to Spain for students.
