Columbia County police ask public's help to identify thief

Columbia County authorities are asking for help identifying a man they say used stolen credit cards at two Martinez retail stores.

Police say the man spent $833.62 on Aug. 3 at the Wal-Mart on Bobby Jones Expressway and Walgreen’s on Bobby Jones Expressway at Washington Road using credit cards stolen from a Martinez woman the same day.

The woman told police she left her purse in her office at 3740 Executive Center Drive while she went to a downstairs office. When she returned, the woman said her purse was missing. Her cell phone and several credit cards were in the purse.
