One arrested, another sought in theft from school

Richmond County investigators have arrested one man and are looking for another after reportedly witnessing the men stealing computers from Tubman Middle School early today.

Dispatchers sent Richmond County sheriff’s deputies to the school because an alarm when off at about 2:43 a.m., a sheriff’s report said. When they arrived, they saw two men loading computers from the school’s media center onto carts and bringing them out of a cafeteria window, the report said. They arrested 17-year-old David Leon Morris, of 1628 McCauley Street, and charged him with burglary. A second suspect, Derico Terrell Golver, 23, ran from the scene, the report states. Tracking dogs were called to the area, but Mr. Golver is still at large. Anyone with information on the suspect can call the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080.
