Men arrested for breaking into cars

Investigators caught two men early this morning breaking into cars in the Woodhaven Apartment complex at 1840 Killingsworth Road Friday morning.

Alonzo Murray, 19, and Michael Henderson, 18, both from Augusta, are charged with entering an automobile, according to Richmond County Sheriff’s Investigator Kendall Brown.

A caller alerted police that two men were seen prying windows back on vehicles in the parking lot at about 2:45 a.m., Investigator Brown said. The men were seen carrying a purse stolen from one of the cars when deputies arrived on the scene and arrested them.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity

A suspicious item was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Savannah River National Laboratory which prompted emergency responseactivities.
