Touch-a-Truck Day scheduled

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department will hold its seventh annual Touch-a-Truck Day on Saturday.


The free event gives children a chance to climb, sit and play in and on service vehicles, including a bulldozer, bucket truck, case loader, dump truck, ambulance and fire truck.

The event will be from 9 to 11 a.m. in the front parking lot of the H.O. Weeks Center, 1700 Whiskey Road.

Children should wear bathing suits and bring a towel for a soaking by the Aiken Department of Public Safety near the end of the event.

Those who attend are also asked to donate a canned good or $1 to Golden Harvest Food Bank.
