Hephzibah man, 38, arrested on July 4 assault charges

A Hephzibah man accused of cutting a man’s earlobe on July 4 was arrested Thursday.

Adrian Peter, 38, of Hephzibah McBean Road, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

The 56-year-old victim said he saw Mr. Peter outside his home and looking at his car. When he went onto his porch, Mr. Peters allegedly approached him and cut his ear with a bowie knife, the report said.

The victim said the Mr Peters has come to his home armed with a shotgun before, ordered his wife and three children outside of the house and threatened them.
