Ex-restaurant manager arrested

Geoffrey Jimenez

Deputies arrested a former manager of Wild Wing Cafe today after they say he was caught on video stealing $750 from the restaurant’s safe.

Geoffrey Jimenez, 27, of the 2200 block of Wheeless Road, is charged with one count of burglary, according to Richmond County Sheriff’s Investigator Alton Creech.

Mr. Jimenez was fired from Wild Wing about a month ago after he was caught stealing money from the store, Investigator Creech said.

Supervisors did not press charges against Mr. Jimenez at the time, choosing instead to fire him.

Investigators believe he returned to the restaurant about 4:19 a.m. July 4. He turned off the building’s alarm off and covered up a security camera, the report said, then robbed the safe.
