Sex charges dropped on former Milledgeville teacher

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Authorities in Baldwin County have dismissed charges against a former teacher who was accused of having sex with two students.

Baldwin County High School teacher Alsion Ivey was placed on administrative leave from her job as a marketing teacher on March 19, 2008. She was indicted on five counts of sexual assault in October.

District Attorney Fred Bright said a recent Georgia Supreme Court ruling influenced his decision to drop charges against the 30-year-old woman.

Authorities have declined to say whether Ivey taught either student.
