SRS announces storage achievement

AIKEN -- Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River National Laboratory announced today they have created a reversible route to generate aluminum hydride, a high capacity hydrogen storage material.

According to a news release, the development is expected to accelerate the development of a whole class of storage materials, as well as provide far reaching applications in areas spanning energy technology and synthetic chemistry.

“We believe our research has provided a feasible route to regenerate aluminum hydride, a high capacity hydrogen storage material,” said Dr. Ragaiy Zidan, lead researcher on the project, in a news release.



Savannah River Site resumes normal activity

A suspicious item was discovered Wednesday afternoon at the Savannah River National Laboratory which prompted emergency responseactivities.
