Roberson takes top school post in Marlboro County system

Dr. Frank Roberson, former Edgefield County School District superintendent and Aiken County educator, has been named the superintendent of Marlboro County, S.C., schools.

Dr. Roberson was one of 40 applicants for the position.

He has worked in education for more than 30 years. He spent less than a year as the Edgefield County School District superintendent before applying for the Aiken County school superintendent position in 2007, where he was a finalist. He has spent the past year as an education consultant.

Dr. Roberson takes his post July 14.
