Break-in, damage reported at Housing Authority property

Investigators are looking for two men who broke into an Augusta Housing Authority property on Peters Road Wednesday and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to vehicles parked there.

The men entered the fenced in area and broke windows out of six Ford trucks parked on the property, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report. The thieves also stole two fire extinguishers – one of which was recovered later - and a laser temperature gauge, the report said.
