Aiken doctor faces charges

Aiken police say a doctor at Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been charged with burglary and property damage at a former girlfriend’s home.

Edwin Victor Martinez de Andino was charged in the Sunday incident with burglary, first degree, and malicious injury to personal property, according to jail records.

An incident report says that Dr. Andino had gone to a home on Wagener Road in Aiken and damaged two windows, a spoiler to a 2002 Lexus and two brake light covers on a Chevy Silverado. He also is accused of entering the home’s garage through a side door and then pounding on the door of the former girlfriend’s bedroom, the report states.

The former girlfriend told police he struck the door with a fist, causing the door panel to split and then ran to a window and broke it with his hand. The doctor also is accused of pounding on the home’s front door and making verbal threats, according to the report.
