DNA test used to identify remains found in 2007

Authorities have identified skeletal remains found near Laney-Walker Boulevard in March 2007 as a local woman.

Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten said today that the results of a DNA test by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation show the woman is 38-year-old Karen Pryor. Her remains are at the University of Georgia’s Anthropology office and will be returned to her family, Mr. Tuten said.

The cause of her death remains undetermined, he said.
